Wildbark Visitor Centre Twilight Tour - Canberra

Highlights

  • Twilight walking tour with nature guides

  • Learn about the local ecology

  • Spot nocturnal and endangered animals

  • Relaxing evening bushwalk in grassy woodlands

  • Discover how animals are reintroduced to the wild

  • Uncover the historical connections of the landscape

Visit Mulligans Flat Woodland Sanctuary to embark on a 2.5 hour twilight walk in nature on Canberra’s doorstep. Join nature guides as you wander amongst the biological preserve to learn about the sanctuary that protects many native and endangered species from their predators.

On the border of 1300 hectares of fox-free bushland, wander the grassy woodlands with a spotlight to witness rare Eastern Bettong foraging on native truffles or tiny sugar gliders eating nectar from the tops of a flowering eucalyptus tree. Kangaroos and wallabies species can also be found feeding in their natural environment. If you listen carefully, you may even hear the distant cry of curlew birds and nocturnal animals that make an appearance after dark.

This evening Twilight Walk is a wonderful introduction to local ecology and conservation work that is being conducted by the Australian National University to restore these critically endangered woodlands and the furry friends that live here.
