Highlights

  • Enjoy the beautiful landscape of the Tongariro National Park
  • The Professional and experienced guide will offer education and local knowledge of the geology, volcanology, flora, fauna and New Zealand cultural history
  • If weather and group conditions permit, walk up to Soda Springs on the Tongariro Alpine Crossing track. There are a selection of alternate walking tracks which can be suited to most fitness levels
  • If anyone in the group is unable able to walk 4 hours on the Tongariro Crossing Track, the group can choose the option of driving to view points which require less physicality
  • Visit recognisable Lord of the Rings filming sites included and not included in the trilogy
  • Witness scenes like Meads Wall, Taranaki Falls, Lake Rotopounamu, Soda Springs, Pukeonake, Whakapapanui River, Tawhai falls, Silica Rapids. This, of course, is dependant on the track the group followed

  • Pick time up time will vary due to the changing seasons. An exact departure time will be provided and you can contact the supplier directly (details on voucher)
  • Summer morning departure will be approximately 8:00am and afternoon tour pick up being around 1:30pm
  • Winter morning departure will be approximately 7:00am and afternoon tour pick up being around 1:30pm

What To Bring

  • Water (1-1.5 liters)
  • Sunscreen and Sunglasses
  • Backpack per person
  • Outdoor shoes with grip
  • Walking trousers
  • 1 light top
  • 2 warm top layers (thermals or fleece are recommended)
  • A waterproof raincoat
  • Extra layering in winter recommended
