Portland Botanic Gardens are a beautiful place to visit in Victoria with kids. Founded in 1850, it is one of the earliest botanic gardens in Australia.
Enjoy a peaceful stroll around the Portland Flower Gardens, and admire its myriad of colourful flowers, including 130 species of dahlias. Have a picnic or BBQ in the Portland Rose Gardens, home to 300 varieties of roses.
To catch the dahlias in full bloom, visit between Christmas and the end of May.

Flat paths ensure access to everyone to appreciate the stunning gardens. Bikes, skateboards and rollerblades are prohibited.
The only sport allowed in the garden in croquet.
