This lovely peaceful sanctuary not far from the city of Brisbane is a fantastic spot to see koalas up close for free. It is located 25 km south of Brisbane in the Daisy Hill Conservation Park.

Meet the four female koalas, Aretha, Jannico, Molly and Kyra, and the male koala, Jordan, and learn about their individual stories. The education centre is interactive, with displays, activities and a documentary show (the Theatre closes earlier than the Centre) that can be enjoyed by both kids and adults.

There is plenty of information, including easy-to-read text and lots of photos, as well as play spaces for the kids and various interactivities for the whole family. Catch the keeper talks at 11 am and 2 pm to hear more about koalas and their conservation.

Don’t forget to bring along a camera to take photos of these cuties!

Accessibility: The Koala Centre and park are wheelchair accessible (ramps in the Koala Centre and flat paths in the park). The Centre has ramp access to all areas except the Treetops Tower.

Facilities:

  • Free Carpark
  • Coach Parking
  • Parents Room
  • Barbeque & Picnic Area
  • Toilet (public and in the Centre)
  • Interactive Centre
  • Interpretive Centre
  • Lookouts

School Holidays Tip:

After seeing the koalas, recharge with a picnic or BBQ in Daisy Hill Regional Park, located just outside the Koala Centre. Let your kids run wild while you put your feet up and relax in the shade. Look out for the kookaburras!
