More info

If you're looking for things to do in Yarra Valley for families, visit Bruno’s Art and Sculpture Garden Australia, one of the best Yarra Valley family activities during school holidays or weekends.

Brunos Art and Garden is a hidden gem in the heart of Marysville VIC. You can easily walk from the main street or just drive to Bruno's home at Falls Rd as there are plenty of free parking spots on-site!

The place is full of unforgettable characters and unique artworks of mystical fantasy creatures created by South American artist Bruno Torf.

This eclectic and beautiful park near Melbourne, Australia, began in 1996 with 15 life-sized terra cotta sculptures set in subalpine forests and has since expanded to more than 170 life-size sculptures that now also include smaller unique artworks nestled amongst the beautiful rainforest near Melbourne.

Bruno has spent 25+ years creating a world rich with fantasy and insightful beauty derived from his imagination. Unfortunately, in February 2009 there was a bushfire raged through Marysville without mercy and claimed the lives of Bruno's neighbours indiscriminately. Bruno was extremely lucky to survive but Bruno's home, the gardens and the art gallery he created were completely destroyed due to this terrible tragedy.

Bruno’s garden and many of his precious artworks were completely destroyed in that Black Saturday fire in February 2009. With the huge support from friends and the community, Brunos art and gallery were reopened in November 2011 adding additional 100+ sculptures to his collection. It has taken many years to restore and rebuild, but Bruno and his family have done this so the place is now better and more beautiful than ever.

You'll find that Brunos art sculpture garden is a retreat for the soul. A place where you can wander through enchanting lush fern gardens and trees, discover quirky terracotta sculptures and enjoy the beauty of azaleas, hydrangeas and rhododendrons. As some of the trees turn to autumn colours, making this spot one of the great places to visit during autumn in Melbourne.

The whole family will enjoy spending a couple of hours among the flowers, ferns, trees and bubbling streams at Bruno's Art Sculpture Garden during your visit to Marysville, Victoria! You'll marvel throughout a rainforest and discover such a great variety of beautiful sculptures scattered throughout the park. Just follow the white arrows! You will be amazed by the intricate little details of those unique artworks!

The sculptures are the real stars of this place that will bring joy to the whole family! However, if you're taking the younger kids to see Brunos art, you'll need to supervise them at all times in the gardens. This is because the amount of restoration work that has been done to Bruno's home since that devastating bushfire is enormous, so please respect the signs everywhere saying "do not touch the sculptures". During your walk, you'll also find some explanations about the sculptures.

With the sculptures that are so creatively scattered throughout the maze-like park, the place is great for all ages and has very easy flat walk paths around making it accessible for prams and wheelchairs.

There is also a gallery at the entrance which displays Brunos art work and stunning paintings. Please note that the gallery will be reopened to visitors later in 2022. As you're heading towards the fairy garden you pass through Bruno's workshop and may see some of his work-in-progress.
