Ballarat is a Victorian era boomtown made famous by the Gold Rush of the 1850’s. Nicknamed “The Golden City”, this thriving city is well known for its history, culture and its well-preserved Victorian era heritage. Enjoy a fully guided tour of Ballarat’s quaint township, immerse yourself in its fascinating history, its beautiful gardens and see its most iconic landmarks and public statues as you're taken by experienced guides to learn all its facts and inner workings.

This sightseeing tour also takes you to visit Sovereign Hill, a unique outdoor heritage museum where history comes to life courtesy of both its era-accurate architecture and in-costume and in-character village of dedicated actors. People from all over the world poured into Ballarat to seek their fortune and now you can discover its distinctive Victorian shops, explore the deep underground tramways and watch traditional blacksmiths and craftsmen at work. Here you can also try your hand at panning for gold at Red Gully Creek and visit the site of the first and only civil uprising; the 1854 Battle of the Eureka Stockade, which is a defining moment in Australia’s history. You will be amazed at the authenticity of this historic place, there is so much to see and do and you can relive the days of the famous Ballarat Gold Rush. Additional Information

  • Companion card holders are entitled to a 50% discount, however the companion card must be presented at time of travel to validate. Please contact the tour operator directly to book in for your companion passenger. Once the booking has been made you will be sent a voucher with the tour operators details attached
