The Trueman's Ride is an especially good choice of ride for families with younger children (minimum age of 6 years old) which takes you along a sandy bush track and is mostly a walking-speed ride that may sometimes break out into a slow trot as the horse rider-guides show you the basics of horse riding and how to handle these gentle creatures.

Tours depart at 11am on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday, and 8.30am & 2.30pm on Saturday, School Holidays and Public Holidays. What to Bring

  • Long pants and enclosed shoes
  • Jeans and runners are quite acceptable. Soft canvas shoes are not advisable
  • Loose or flowing clothing such as scarves can scare other horses and are not permitted on the ride
  • You can bring a small camera with you and there will be an opportunity to take photos on the ride. Small 'bum bags' are provided to carry your camera. Larger cameras may not be taken

Tour Times

  • Tours depart at 11am on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday, and 8.30am & 2.30pm on Saturday, School Holidays and Public Holidays
  • Tours depart from 150 Sandy Rd, Fingal, VIC, approximately a 1 hour drive from the Melbourne CBD. You must arrive 30 minutes prior to your ride departure time. If you are late and the ride has already departed, there are no refunds available
  • Closed Christmas Day

Important Information

  • For the safety of customers and the health of the horses, a maximum weight restriction of 95kgs applies. You will be required to enter each participants weight in the 'Add Booking Notes' section of the shopping cart. You may be asked to be weighed on the day of the ride, and if you have advised your weight incorrectly and exceed 95kgs, you will not be permitted to ride and all monies will be forfeited
  • The ride will still go out in the rain, so if it is forecast to rain bring a waterproof jacket. We do not cancel a ride because of rain as some of the best scenery is seen on overcast days. In the rare case where we do cancel a ride due to electrical storms, we will notify you and arrange to reschedule your ride
  • All staff have experience working with horses, have first aid qualifications and undergo regular in-house training
  • Horses are not permitted to gallop. If you are confident and competent, there are opportunities to canter
  • Must be a minimum of 6 years of age
  • Must have a minimum of 2 passengers otherwise the trip can be postponed
  • NO opportunities to trot, canter or gallop on this ride. It is a walking pace only ride

  • Confirmation in the form of a tour voucher will be received at time of booking. You will be required to reconfirm your booking with the tour operator at least 48hrs prior to your scheduled tour departure.   • Upon completion of purchase, please print the voucher and present on day of the tour
