What you need to know

Embark on a challenging climb up the Mount Maunganui Summit Track in the picturesque Bay of Plenty. Stretching a total of 3.8 kilometres the walk is considered to be quite a tough work. However, if you’ve managed to complete the climb and made it to the top you will be rewarded with incredible views. The visibility at the top stretches from the beach to Matakana Island while ships and boats make their way in and out of the channel to the harbour.

The quality of the track itself is quite good however it is quite a steep incline, which means it will be a challenging descent. Walkers are advised to allow upward of an hour to complete the walk without any stops or interruptions.
