Olive Pink Botanic Gardens

Found in 1956 by Miss Olive Murel Pink and opened in 1985, the Olive Pink Botanic Garden’s showcase a number of beautiful gardens specialising in flora from Australia’s interior. With over 600 central Australian plants, with 40 of these species being rare or threatened, there is truly a stunning array on display here. Entry to the gardens is by donation, with all proceeds going towards maintaining these wonderful gardens for future years to come. Located close to the Alice Springs Central Business District, it is both an easily accessible and cheap attraction perfect for holidays to Alice Springs.
Covering 16 hectares, there are many fabulous displays that are bound to keep you entertained for hours. Discover all the different areas by the network of walking trails and try your luck at spotting the wildlife – particularly birds that have made these gardens home. With over 80 bird species having been recorded in the grounds, you are bound to spot at least one! With self guided walks and interpretive signs along the way to assist visitors and a delicious café on site to help top off a great day, these gardens are a definite must for any one looking for things to do in Alice Springs.
